Description

Here we have a classic vintage archtop guitar made by Recording King in 1930s or thereabouts. Hard to date these precisely. Regardless, this is one fine vintage archtop and it’s all original and still retains its original pickguard. It also bears the Montgomery Wards logo inside the guitar body which means this one was made for sale by Wards. Kinda cool, we think.

Very unusual fingerboard inlays (see photos) which we’ve not come across before, but we like them a lot. More importantly, this is a good playing, nice sounding guitar in very good overall condition with normal playing wear considering its age. Light scratches and dings and general wear, but nothing egregious. No cracks or repairs.

This guitar does have a fairly large neck. It’s the typical big vee profile that we see in this era. Personally, we prefer the vee necks to the rounded baseball bat necks. Comes with a newer hardshell case.
