Here is an incredibly rare vintage (circa 1936) Regal Bassoguitar flat top acoustic stand up double bass guitar. This is a very nice example of a very rare Regal instrument. With limited production between 1936 and 1938, approximately 30 are known to exist. Famously endorsed and played by Israel Crosby, the Bassoguitar is considered an important step in the evolution of the modern bass guitar. With its flat top and back, laminated back and sides, guitar-centric bracing pattern, round soundhole, this fretless (with accurate guitar-style fret markers) acoustic bass is quite visibly part standup bass, and part acoustic guitar. This bass has a very small drying crack on the treble side of the top which is glued and secure. It is missing the original stand post, however, any 3/4" steel bar would suffice.
