2005 Rickenbacker 650C Colorado Montezuma Brown
I'd like to think that the man who designed these small-bodied Rickenbackers was thinking of a guy like me when he did so. I often joke that my business partner is 6' 3" and I'm 3' 6" and it's usually good for a chuckle, but if you strap a 360 around my neck, it looks like a midget playing a double bass. Those larger guitars don't seem to sit right or fit right for me, so this 650C is a welcomed addition to the herd here.
I actually had some fun playing this guitar through a modeling amp, which allows me to get all sorts of crazy fuzzes and distortions. While not a very accomplished guitar player, I can rattle the garage doors with the best of them when it comes to two-fingered power chords and this little 650 did not disappoint. It got me in trouble mighty quick and it was not long before I was forced to dial it back down to a human level, but only semi-humbled.
When played clean, it has a very nice clear tone that's crisp and articulate. Tap on a little reverb and some chorus and you have a full and shimmering 6-string orchestra at your fingertips. The guitar is in a very clean condition and while you will see a few very light surface scratches, it's obvious that it has been very well taken care of. Both the case and guitar have been detailed and the guitar is set up with a fresh set of strings. The package includes the original case and a little bit of case candy.
