Rickenbacker arguably produced the first electric guitars as lap steels, and these led to this Rickenbacker NS or New Style Model 100. Produced from 1937 to 1952, the Rickenbacker NS was built from a stamped sheet metal body. Pre-war versions were called the Silver Hawaiian.

For electronics, the Rickenbacker NS used their Rickenbacker Patent Horseshoe pickup - to this day, Rickenbacker vigorously defends this patent and copies are not available. There are two knobs and an output jack on the side.

This example was built around 1948 - the dating point is the white position markers and the non-crinkle finish. It is in excellent condition, and on the back is a perfect condition decal from B and J Music - "Certified Musical Products". B and J is to this day one of Canada's premiere musical distributors.

A brown hardshell case is included.
