A fantastic opportunity for any discerning memorabilia and rare vintage guitar collector or fan of The Who and The Smiths.
An astounding piece of genuine British Rock N Roll history as well as being a highly desirable, ultra rare vintage guitar.
On it's own merits alone, this seriously rare, issue free, 1964 Rickenbacker Rose Morris Export Model 1993 is an extremely hard guitar to source with very few in circulation. This rare model featured an unusual traditional F-hole as opposed to the regular Rickenbacker slash/cats eye sound hole, it has an unbound neck and dot inlays, a double bound body and toaster top pickups.
Made exclusively for the U.K. market and imported from Rickenbacker by the Rose Morris Company and probably thanks to George Harrison of The Beatles who put this guitar on the map, inspiring many others afterwards with Pete Townshend and Johnny Marr included.
This actual guitar was purchased by Johnny Marr in the late 1980's direct from John Entwistle of The Who. An unbroken, surviving Rickenbacker from The Who camp is unheard of. The guitar is being sold with it's original silver case and with full hand written and photographic provenanve from Johnny Marr. Notably used on The Smiths 'Strangeways Here We Come' LP.
