The Mondata XVIII is a spectacular design from world renowned instrument designer and builder Dennis Fano. This guitar has been expertly set up by the Novo Guitars crew in Nashville and the fret work is meticulous. This guitar is slightly reminiscent of Fano's JM6 model but with a carved top. The gold Plexi pickguards and Fuoco Burst finish are extremely attractive. The C+ neck profile feels incredible in hand and plays flawlessly up and down the fingerboard. The Les Trem is a perfect addition to this guitar giving it further inspirational and creative options. This particular guitar is very resonant unplugged and rings like a bell plugged in. The three Fumante mini-humbuckers sound excellent independently and combined with one another. These pickups are very well balanced. The two three-position toggle switches give you tons of different tonal variations making this guitar exceptionally versatile and unique. The tonal qualities combined with the amazing playability make this guitar easily one of our favorite new guitars available today.
We love these Rivolta guitars. They are a creative masterpiece and extremely fun to play. Rivolta guitars are part of Dennis Fano's amazing company Novo Guitars in Nashville, Tennessee (an hour from our shop). Rivolta guitars are built by world class instrument makers MIRR in Korea. Novo builds some of the finest guitars on the planet and we've long been impressed by Dennis Fano's work. We're very pleased to find new homes for guitars from their attractive, well made, affordable Rivolta line.
From Rivolta Guitars: Following up on the success of the Combinata comes the latest addition to the family: The Mondata XVIII. The tradition of offering fresh takes on classic Dennis Fano designs continues with this offset design, incorporating elements of the Fano JM6 and the classic non-reverse Firebird. Like the Combinata, the Mondata features a double-bound chambered mahogany body with bound neck and vintage pearloid block inlays. You can expect a punchy and clear tone from the Firebird pickups, think 'humbuckers that sound like FAT single coils' and you're there. If versatility is your thing, the two switch configuration gives you every possible pickup combination.
