Available is a custom built Morningstar which has belonged to me personally and served as my main axe for over 3 years. I’ve decided to let it go, due to being more of a Tele player these days. Izzy made this guitar to my specifications hence the unique specifications.
It features Old Growth Redwood (Wine Cellar Wood, which is highly sought after in the world of Ronin Guitars) The finish is a gorgeous Aged Aztec Gold. This build features a few incredible one-off specs. Some of these features include a 4-Button Tornipulator w/ momentary LPF button. The entire control layout is extremely unique making this one of the most versatile Morningstar’s to ever be offered.
The pickups are FB-Mini’s with a dedicated coil split button for the neck pickup in place of the second tone control. I specked the layout to be more like a Tele. You have 1 vol & 1 tone (easily accessible for volume / tone swells) The pots are low friction and fea custom aluminum knobs. The blade switch is also made of milled aluminum. 3-way switch works for the outer two pickups only with a middle pickup on button for endless tonal possibilities; including all three pickup’s on at once (an incredibly useful position that sounds beautiful with the neck pickup split or as a humbucker)
This instrument also features aMagic Button; which brings into play a specialized passive piezo disk that sits inside of the bridge pickups cavity route. Engaging it can lead to many musical results and enhances the sounds of the very resonant Reclaimed Old Growth Redwood body. Upon pressing it, you'll be able to enhance all the subtle nuances of the instrument. Letting you tap and play behind the nut or scratch at the springs. You can also get acoustic like tones that are blend-able with the other pickups. As you roll down your guitars volume control, it becomes more present, this can lead to lap-steel, banjo, dobro and many other experimental but extremely musical sounds. It’s a very potent / lively Magic Button.
For the neck we chose the most solid (stable) piece of Maple in Izzy’s stash. The truss rod has never needed to be adjusted even once and the guitar plays with a very low action and strait neck! Action at the 12th fret is 3 & 3 1/2 64ths high E to low E. I personally supplied the Mono Vertigo protective gig-bag with shock absorption.
Now to discuss the 4-button Tornipulator circuit. If you are into Avant-Garde music or like to build unique landscapes of sound while using pedals like loopers or just want to use the momentary Kill-Switch or LPF alone for Trem or Vibrato effects; it's all at your finger tips. The 4-Button Tornipulator has these 4 functions; The first button (all momentary buttons) activates the Microphone, the second introduces 60 Cycle Hum and is essentially a ground lift, the third button is a Kill Switch and last but not least is a Low Pass Filter button that can interact with the mic or be used alone for a momentary vibrato effect.
Like with many Ronin's, this guitar features a massively responsive Mannmade 2-Pin Trem setup with only 2 springs. It is set to be floating, so that you can pull back ever so slightly or get a ringing-out vibrato tone that sustains for much longer than most other Strat-Style vibrato/trem units on the market. A once in a lifetime guitar that is sure to surpass your expectations.
Excellent ++ condition w/ perf playability. Setup with Thomastik Power-Brights (9-42 gauge strings)
