Description
This is quite a lovely Ronin Morningstar in like-new condition; with a few unique specs and upgrades that make it stand out from others built. We custom ordered this guitar for a customer at the end of 2020 and it was completed at the beginning of 2021. Unfortunately the owner has found themselves in a position where they cannot afford to keep this guitar right now; so we bought it back to offer on the market for the first time. Head Luthier Izzy Lugo of Ronin Guitars who's located near us at his Milton NY workshop, recently gave the guitar a look over and a new set of strings. He agreed with us that it is in "like-new" condition with zero signs of have ever being played. One thing to note about this instrument is how light and balanced it is at only 6lbs 12oz.

This Morningstar features a rare set of Foil-Bucker Mini pickups which have not been powder coated white. Instead they have bare metal covers and silver foil mesh instead of the standard black mesh. Ronin pickups are so satisfying to the ear. They need to be heard to be believed. You can get everything from fat-growling PAF humbucker style tones, mixed with more than a just a hint of Gold-Foil clarity at its best, to more ethereal & airy Strat-like tones that cuts through the mix with satisfying bite and clarity, but do so without sounding the slightest bit harsh. They truly are perfection. Mixed with the Magic Button, you will always find new and exciting tones out of this instrument. This guitar just inspires & begs to be played. The neck profile is Ronin's hand carved C to V, which measures .88" - .94". It starts off as a C profile in first position and gradually tapers into a Soft-V for the majority of the neck.

The Magic Button brings into play a specialized passive piezo pickup that sits inside of the bridge pickups cavity route. Engaging it can lead to many musical results and enhances the sounds of the very resonant Reclaimed Old Growth Redwood body. Upon pressing it, you'll be able to enhance all the subtle nuances of the instrument. Letting you tap and play behind the nut or scratch at the springs. You can also get acoustic like tones that are blend-able with the other pickups. As you roll down your guitars volume control, it becomes more present, this can lead to lap-steel, banjo, dobro and many other experimental but extremely musical sounds.

Now to discuss the 4-button Tornipulator circuit. If you are into Avant-Garde music or like to build unique landscapes of sound while using pedals like loopers or just want to use the momentary Kill-Switch or LPF alone for Trem or Vibrato effects; it's all at your finger tips. The 4-Button Tornipulator has these 4 functions; The first button (all momentary buttons) activates the Microphone, the second introduces 60 Cycle Hum and is essentially a ground lift, the third button is a Kill Switch and last but not least is a Low Pass Filter button that can interact with the mic or be used alone for a momentary vibrato effect.

Like with many Ronin's, this guitar features a massively responsive Mannmade 2-Pin Trem setup with only 2 springs. It is set to be floating, so that you can pull back ever so slightly or get a ringing-out vibrato tone that sustains for much longer than other Strat-Style vibrato/trem units on the market.

This Morningstar is finished in a classy and lightly reliced "Aged Antique White" all nitro finish with a matching headstock, Mint pickguard and Nickel/Silver hardware throughout. This model is now discontinued and getting harder to find, especially with the stated upgraded features. This is a great opportunity to own one of Ronin's finest creations.
