1940 S.S. Stewart Mahogany 00 Good, Original Soft, $875.00
With a 14 1/4” lower bout this guitar is close in size to a Martin 00. The body has solid mahogany top, back and sides, the neck is mahogany and the fret board and bridge are Brazilian rosewood. The front of the headstock sports a gold silk-screened “SS STEWART” logo while the back of the headstock shows a “B & J Certified Musical Products” label (B & J was a retail store). This guitar is entirely original with the only addition being a small maple bridge plate cap that spans the pin holes. The top is ladder braced and all of the bracing is intact and secure (back as well). The back has a couple of crack repairs on the treble side which are all tight, level and stable. The top has one short hairline crack repair as well. The neck has a substantial “V” profile an also a steel rod neck reinforcement. The top shows a fair amount of arch (not belly or bridge rotation) but it is stable. The neck angle is good and the neck shows proper relief under tension. Nut width is 1 23/32” (just a hair over 1 11/16”) The guitar plays well with action set at 7/64” and 6/64” with a little saddle left to lower the action if desired. The guitar has a very strong and clear voice, very responsive and loud even to a light touch. When played hard it has the guts to stay focused and not go muddy. The bottom end is dry and woody and the trebles crisp and cutting. Great little guitar. Comes with the original chipboard case, which is in good condition. $875

If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
