Description

Offered is another exquisite instrument from Richard Hoover and the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. Offered is this one-owner custom OM built in 2013 and in near mint condition.

This is a 000/OM sized guitar with 14 frets free of the body, a 25.375" string scale, a 1.75" nut width, 2.25" string spacing and full hide glue construction. The top is made of Italian Spruce with nicely symmetrical bearclaw figuring. The back and sides are made from a magnificent set of highly figured Macassar Ebony. It has Koa binding, Maple/Ebony purfling and a Koa rosette. The Mahogany neck has a soft V shape and an Ebony fretboard with side dots and no fingerboard inlays. It has a black Ebony belly bridge with Ebony bridge pins with MOP dots. It has a bound, solid square headstock with volute and gold Gotoh 510 tuners with black buttons.

On playing this guitar, my first impressions were how lightly built and how LOUD it is. Players downsizing from a dreadnought will lose little in the way of output. This guitar has a well-balanced voice that is strong across all frequencies. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. This is very responsive guitar that should appeal to both flat and fingerpickers. The original owner tells me that it was recently sent to SCGC for a checkup. While there it was setup with Elixir lights, with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. It plays like a dream!

This one-owner beauty has been played very little since purchased new in 2013. It shows no flaws of any significance and only the lightest evidence of prior play. The frets show no wear whatsoever. It's condition is like that of a new guitar in a high-end shop that has been tested by a customer or two. It comes in it's similarly mint SCGC/Ameritage case, also in superb condition, along with the original paperwork.

The original owner paid $8.8K for this guitar back in 2013. Commissioned today, this guitar would cost you approximately $10K. Get this near mint beauty for substantially less. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make this magnificent OM yours today!
