Description

If you love and/or need the power of your dreadnought, but long for the comfort of a smaller, more comfortable guitar, give this beauty a look. Offered here is a near new Santa Cruz OM Grand. With a lower bout that is just .75" wider than on a typical Orchestra Model guitar, Richard Hoover has given us an instrument that is both elegant and powerful and one that can accommodate the needs of strummers and fingerstyle players alike. It's slightly larger size gives it superior projection and bass response, but it has not lost any of the the marvelous responsiveness of the smaller OM upon which it is based. This guitar has a select grade Sitka top mated with nicely grained Mahogany used for the back and sides. It has a bound, 14-fret Mahogany neck with a soft V-shape and volute. It has a string scale of 25.375", string spacing of 2-3/16" and a 1.75" nut. The styling is traditional, with ivoroid binding, herringbone trim, zipper backstrip and nickel Waverly tuners. This guitar is incredibly light (just 3 pounds, 11 ounces) and responsive to your pick or fingers. This 2014 model is in near mint condition with just the slightest evidence of previous use on the pickguard and on the headstock overlay. It comes in it's original Santa Cruz/Ameritage case. A new example will run you $4,500 but this nearly pristine example can be yours for a grand$ less. Be heard, but play more comfortably with this superb Santa Cruz OMG!
