Description

If you love and/or need the power of your dreadnought, but long for the comfort of a smaller, more comfortable guitar, give this beauty a look. Offered here is a near new Santa Cruz OM Grand. With a lower bout that is just .75" wider than on a typical Orchestra Model guitar, Richard Hoover has given us an instrument that is both elegant and powerful and one that can accommodate the needs of strummers and fingerstyle players alike. It's slightly larger size gives it superior projection and bass response, but it has not lost any of the the marvelous responsiveness and clarity of the smaller OM upon which it is based.

This guitar has an upgraded German Spruce top with light figuring mated with lovely straight-grained grained East Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. It has a bound, 14-fret Mahogany neck with a soft V-shape and volute. It has a string scale of 25.375", string spacing of 2-3/16" and a 1.75" nut. The styling is classy and traditional, with ivoroid binding, herringbone trim, zipper backstrip and nickel Waverly tuners.

This guitar plays with ease and is very responsive to your touch. You can make this guitar thunder or wisper depending on your level of input. It is set up nicely with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the low E side and 5/64" on the high side. The tone is clear, rich and well balanced. Please check out the brief sound sample provided and I think you will concur.

This one owner guitar was built in 2016 and appears virtually unplayed. You would be hard pressed to find any evidence of play and the frets are flawless. It comes in it's similarly mint and original SCGC/Ameritage case. A new example of this guitar with it's upgraded top would have a street price of $6, but this near mint beauty can be yours for substantially less. Make this marvelous Santa Cruz yours today!
