We're always thrilled when a small chunk of rock music history is hanging up on the wall in our showroom. The Schecter Dream Machine was the Super Strat of choice used by Mark Knopfler, replacing his mainstay red Fender Strats for a number of years. It is a collector's instrument as well as being an incredibly versatile player's guitar with a host of time-honored features that hold up on stage and in the studio alike. It is in EXC+ condition with light body, neck and headstock dings, a hole where the lower strap button used to be, light finish checking and a finish crack by the neck pocket; the frets and fingerboard are at 95%, and it plays great!
"Schecter Dream Machines were equipped with Schecter F500T pickups and had three mini toggle switches. As each pickup had two sounds due to a tapped coil, the switches enabled 26 different sound combinations. He (Mark Knopfler) recorded Making Movies and started the On Location tour with these pickups, but after the Christmas break he put Seymour Duncans into this guitar."
