Summary: This guitar is a custom build from the hands of luthier Scott Walker. Walker has a reputation for his skill and attention to detail, which is on full display in this gorgeously carved, balanced and sonically magnificent instrument.

Body: Carved solid flame mahogany. Offset body style. Dark translucent satin finish.

Neck: Bird’s eye maple bolt-on with a medium C profile. Satin finish. Rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays. Bone nut.

Electronics/Hardware: Lollar Wide Range humbuckers. Chrome hardware. Kluson Deluxe tuners. Tune-o-matic style bridge with custom machined tail piece. Three way pickup selector. Master volume and master tone controls. Steve Kimock preamp with mini-toggle and level control knob.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in beautiful shape and a real work of art, from the hand-carved detailing and diamond volute on the vividly patterned bird’s eye maple neck to the custom-designed and shaped tail piece. The carved body, reminiscent in size and shape to Fender’s offsets, is aesthetically balanced with expert scrollwork on the upper horn and a dramatically colored tortoiseshell pickguard that reaches down to curve along the lower bout. Condition-wise, there are some very light scratches and a few tiny dings to the satin finish on the body, and a very slight, 1/8” long finish crack at the neck pocket. There are couple places where the pickguard, which is made of a thick, possibly vintage plastic, does not lie completely flat on the body, but the separation is slight and the pickguard is stable.

Playability: This guitar plays great. The action is low, and there is no buzz or dead spots. The frets are in excellent condition, the neck has a very comfortable carve, string spacing is roomy and playability is very smooth. The offset body is well-balanced and pleasant to hold. The Lollar pickups sound gorgeous and strong and have everything you want in a wide range humbucker. The onboard Kimock preamp offers controllable push when you need it, from just a nudge to a full on roar.
