Soma One of a Kind Sunburst

Summary: Joel Amsden, the owner of Soma, is a professional guitarist, as well as a highly regarded guitar and amplifier technician. His 20+ years in the field provides valuable insight into the expectations of working musicians. This real world experience, coupled with Joel’s life-long obsession with the electric guitar, is the basis for all of the research and development used to design and build Soma products. This particular Soma guitar is a one off instrument which resembles a Les Paul Special double cut, but with a modern feel and superb craftsmanship. The deeply figured maple top and thin mahogany neck allows for stunning looks and easy high fret access. The quality of this instrument really has to be seen in person to fully appreciate. It ships in a Gibson hard shell case, fully packed padded and insured!

Body: It has a white bound solid one piece mahogany double cutaway body with a 2 piece figured maple top which looks absolutely gorgeous.

Neck: The mahogany neck has a really nice slim profile, bound ebony fretboard with pearl trapezoidal inlays, bone nut, nickel plated Grover Deluxe tuners, 1.675” nut width and 24.75” scale length.

Pickups/Hardware: The pickups are 2 Soma wound P90s that sound great. There is a 3 way toggle, 2 volumes, 2 tones, fully adjustable and intonated wraparound stop tailpiece, gold knobs and recessed output jack.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in beautiful condition with just a few dings in the surface of the finish and some minor scratches/scuffs. There is also a small chip in the finish on the end of the headstock and a small chip in the nut which doesn’t affect the playability at all. The frets are in pristine condition, they are very smooth, polished and have no wear to them.

Playability: This Soma has been inspected and set up by our in house luthier as well as restrung with a new set of 10s. The action is low, the neck is straight and the frets are leveled and feel great for bending because of its flatter fretboard radius.
