Offered for sale;

Used one owner 1986 Steinberger GP2S serial number N10452.

This guitar is in very good condition. The neck and frets are fine and the active pickups are fully functional. Cosmetically there are some minor dimples on the back, not quite belt rash, the white finish has faded a bit and the guitar shows some playing time but not very much. This GP2S is completely original. We have found some anomalies with the Steinberger serial numbers, this guitar was purchased in 1986, the original owner is quite sure of the time frame yet the serial numbers seem to indicate a later production date. This is not the first time we’ve seen this with a Steinberger.

The first of the bolt-on Steinbergers, the GP series features a maple mini V style GP body and Steinberger “blend” composite bolt on neck. Several different body shapes were to follow. Active EMG 81 in the bridge position and EMG 85 in the neck position with mini 3-way pickup toggle and volume tone with original Steinberger knobs. The battery compartment is located under a small section of the pickguard. Steinberger locking S-Trem tremolo and flip out leg rest are all original. The original Steinberger gig bag is also in good shape with one small tear that can be sewn and a correctly working zipper.

This guitar was purchased by the original owner while living in Newburgh NY, the location of the Steinberger factory. The original owner met Ned Steinberger and participated in a “blindfold pickup” test for Ned when he was designing his earliest guitars.

Cool guitar that is an important part of the history of the headless. Great addition to any collection and is so functional it could be your only axe!

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
