Description

Offered for sale;

Used Sterling series AX40 serial number SG18197. This guitar is in excellent condition, neck and frets are fine, cosmetically quite clean.

It all started when Eddie Van Halen teamed up with Music Man to produce the hugely popular signature Eddie Van Halen model. Then Eddie moved on but the guitar design and build was still superb and popular. So Music Man changed the name to Axis. They also made one change to the guitar itself. For nostalgic and personal reasons Eddie wanted a “Tone” knob on the volume control of the “Eddie” model (imagine that). The Axis has a “Volume” knob on the volume control (imagine that). BUT the Sterling by Music Man Axis has reverted back to a “Tone” knob on the volume control (imagine that).

The Sterling AX40 has a bound basswood body with a beautiful quilted maple top and a bolt-on maple neck with 22 medium-jumbo frets. A unique asymmetrical neck carve offers the comfort of a fast playing neck, yet enough mass to yield good tone. Features include a Sterling locking vibrato bridge, the Music Man 4+2 headstock, Sterling A5 Zebra humbucking pickups, and chrome tuners. Since the locking vibrato sits tight to the body the Axis is equally at home with non-vibrato playing.

Sterling by Music Man is for players seeking the Music Man vibe at a more affordable price. These made in Indonesia instruments are accurate versions of popular Music Man guitars and basses with no compromise on quality or materials.

Sweet guitar and an even sweeter price!

Gig bag included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.
