Featuring a 2-piece alder body, alder is favored by blues and rock players for its strong, clear, full-bodied sound, with beefy mids and excellent lows. Alder is used extensively for guitar bodies because of its light weight and its full sound. The nitrocellulose 3-tone burst trans finish provides an unparalleled combination of protection, beauty, and tone. Great care is taken to ensure that the thinnest possible layers of finish are applied. This allows the wood to resonate freely while still providing ample protection. A 3-ply parchment pickguard is fitted.

The quarter sawn maple neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard is tinted and then finished in satin acrylic urethane, which provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture. The Classic Pro is equipped with an even C medium neck profile, rolled edges and a 9-12” compound fingerboard radius. Medium stainless steel frets are fitted which offer silky smooth bending and long-lasting playability.

Utilizing the PLEK process on each instrument guarantees the best possible string action, ensures optimized playability, and eliminates intonation problems. The nut width is 1.650" and the 1st fret profile is .840”, the 12th fret profile is .920, with a 25.5” scale length.

The Classic Pro includes the innovative SSCII (Silent Single-Coil) hum cancelling system. The Suhr proprietary passive 60-cycle hum reduction system has no impact on tone, there are no batteries to change - just transparent noise reduction. The Classic Pro V70 pickups are exceptionally dynamic and respond to every nuance of your playing. Their tone is balanced with tight snappy lows and shimmering highs that cut ever so sweetly without sounding harsh.

Every V70 pickup is hand-built, precisely wound (using our proprietary winding process) and features: plain enamel wire, specially formulated Alnico V magnets and vintage correct gray fiber bottoms. The V70 also incorporates a modified staggered pole piece design to provide an even magnetic field required by instruments with a flatter neck radius and today’s string gauges.

Locking tuners are fitted and a Gotoh 510 tremolo bridge featuring dual steel knife edge pivot points to provide greater functionality and years of trouble free performance. The 510’s tremolo block was designed to allow the strings to contact the saddle without touching the block as it passes through which increases sustain and tuning stability. A 5-way pickup selector switch and volume, tone, tone, controls complete the package.

The Classic Pro marries vintage design with modern improvements resulting in an instrument that is capable of producing iconic tones while retaining the build quality, features and playability you’ve come to expect from Suhr.
