Description

We are big fans of work of John Suhr, particularly his custom pieces like the 2012 Classic S offered here. This superb Strat-style instrument was custom ordered by a customer who knew exactly what he was looking for and equipped his guitar well.

The specs for this beautiful S include: a light weight Alder body with a Fiesta Red finish and a total weight of just 7.6 pounds; a gorgeous quartersawn Maple neck with a smooth, satin-finish and a custom medium/chunky C-shape with depth measurements of .845" at the first fret and .975" at the twelfth fret: a gorgeous, dark Rosewood fretboard with a 9 - 12" compound radius, a 1.650" black Tusq nut and jumbo stainless steel frets; a vintage style six screw bridge with uncoated steel trem block; Hipshot locking tuners; and for electronics, three Suhr JST ML single coils, a custom wiring setup and Suhr's Silent Single Coil II (SSCII) system.

The original owner chose his specs well. This guitar offers an interesting mix of modern technology and vintage features. It plays with the precision of a trained surgeon's scalpel and it sounds like a vintage Fender with lots of quack and clarity. If you are fussy about your tone and the ease with which your guitar plays, this guitar is likely to satisfy your demands. Check out the brief sound sample provided for a taste of the tone of this fine Strat-style instrument.

The original owner was also very careful with how he treated this fine instrument. Other than a few very light pick scuffs on the pickguard, this guitar is flawless. While made in 2012, it could almost pass for new. It comes in it's original G&G case along with the trem arm, tools, spec sheet and the fretboard protector.

The original owner waited 15 months for this custom build and paid far more than we are asking for this near mint custom piece. Make this marvelous custom Suhr S yours today!
