Description

Offered here is a relatively unique Strat-styled instrument from John Suhr. This guitar was built back in 2001 when John was far more involved in the day-to-day building of his guitars. These early instruments will built in much lower volumes than they are today and are prized for their very high quality.

This Classic has an Alder body with an optional flamed Maple top. It has a Maple neck with Suhr's 'Vintage C Medium' neck carve and depth measurements of .830" - .950". It has a Rosewood fretboard with an 11"-14" compound radius, a 1.650" nut and big frets. It comes with a tremolo bridge with steel saddes and drop-in trem arm and Sperzel locking tuners. The electronics include three JST V60's single coils with a Strat-style control setup. The body has been given a lovely two-tone Tobacco sunburst finish and the neck has a nice dry, non-tacky satin finish. The guitar has a total weight of 7 pounds, 13 ounces.

I love these early era Suhr guitars and invest in them whenever I can. They feel like they were made one-at-a-time and by hand and the playability is fantastic. The Maple top upgrade on this one makes it even more special and adds a touch of additional "snap" to the guitar's tone. Please check out the brief sound sample included below.

This guitar has obviously been a case queen. While built two decades ago it remains in near mint condition with no flaws of any significance and the big fret show zero wear. It comes in its original black G&G case (which shows a bit of storage wear), along with the trem arm, fretboard protector, tools and spec sheet.

If you are looking for something special in the way of a Strat-style instrument, this is a great opportunity and you should consider this lovely 2001 Suhr. Click the 'Buy Now' button and make it yours!
