Up for sale, a 1970s Sunn Alpha 112PR combo amplifier in excellent condition and in good working order. This amp packs some simple and effective features into a ported cabinet with built in reverb (thus the P for ported and the R for reverb in the amp name). The tone is mellow and fairly dark, although the bright input allows for a bit more attack and bite, which gives the amps natural overdrive a surprisingly smooth and crunchy tone when the gain is dimed. For a solid state amp, this little Sunn packs a punch, with an EQ section that has the usual Bass, Treble, and Midrange controls, as well as a Mid Freq knob that helps carve out the ideal frequencies to keep the tone present and clear.

Cosmetically, the amp is in good overall shape, with a few expected small scuffs on the edges of the cabinet, and some rubberized piping on the edges which has hardened and shrunken slightly over the decades. All of the original knobs are present, as well as the stock handle, and this stout, portable Sunn amp works exactly as it should.
