1978 Takamine EF380M Jumbo Acoustic Electric Guitar in NATURAL FLAMED MAPLE FINISH - 100% original and in excellent condition for its age - with original Takamine hardshell case, owner's manual, case key, Takamine polishing cloth, and tool with Takamine nylon bag serial number 8102xxxx - Made in Japan sticker STILL on the back of the headstock. Condition-wise, she is excellent for her age - you will find some light dings - just a handful - a bit of wear around the bottom of the soundhole that is hard to photograph, some pick scratches - but that is about it - she has been really well cared for. The bridge does have a visible crack running through each bridge pin hole - we will have our luthier repair this area prior to shipping. This is a really really nice, very high-end vintage Takamine Jumbo - with some beautiful Flamed Maple on the back and sides. In fact, interior photos reveal Flamed Maple on the interior of the guitar's body, too, so this is a solid back. Maple neck, rosewood board, Spruce top result in a big and very bright sound - very nice. Jumbo frets are the originals and are in super shape - just a little bit of divoting on the first few frets from cowboy chords. Double bound body and bound fingerboard result in a really beautiful look - and simple volume and EQ sliders result in simple and solid amplified acoustic tones. The Takamine logo on the headstock is actually engraved/inset which is really cool, and something we have not seen on a vintage MIJ before. She's X braced, and the guitar's back is actually ARCHED - which is quite attractive and another sign of a top-grade Japanese build. These vintage Japanese guitars are finally getting the attention they have deserved for YEARS - and this Tak Jumbo is a prime example.
