Summary: The Takamine P7DC is a powerful dreadnought acoustic/electric guitar that combines tradition with contemporary refinements. This guitar features a solid spruce top with “X” top bracing and solid rosewood back & sides.

Body: Dreadnought acoustic with a solid spruce top and rosewood back & sides and a Venetian cutaway for easy access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard.

Neck: Mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard, 1.77” nut width, 25 38” scale length, Takamine’s asymmetrical neck profile that is slightly thinner on the treble side so it fits the natural shape of your hand, resulting in a comfortable feel & improved playability. This instrument has a split-bone saddle to help with intonation.

Pickups/Hardware: This P7DC features Takamine’s proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube preamp system that actually has a real tube inside the pickup that gives you a really warm, rich sound when it is plugged into an amp or PA system. This instrument also has wonderfully elegant maple body binding with dark wood purfling & an abalone rosette. This guitar has gold Takamine Gotoh tuning keys. Premium design appointments include an ebony fingerboard with ivory binding, abalone “snowflake” inlays, a dark rosewood headcap with abalone Takamine logo, gold tuners with gold buttons, a natural bone nut and smooth gloss natural finish.

Cosmetics: This Takamine is in great shape – there are no major dings or dents that I see on the instrument but I did find some small dings on the top when I held the guitar up in the light. I also found a few imperfections on the back – nothing that could be considered major buckle rash but there are a few nicks & small places where it looks scratched. The pickguard does have some pick scratching & I also found one nick near the endpin on the side of the instrument. Overall it looks like the previous owner took good care of this guitar and it hasn’t been played a ton.

Playability: This guitar plays & sounds great! The action is low & the guitar plays with no buzzing & no dead spots up & down the fingerboard. We had this instrument set up with 12’s by our in-house luthier & it is ready to be played & loved.

Mods/Repairs: N/A

Weight: 5 lbs, 12 oz.
