Summary: From TaylorGuitars.com-
“Grand Auditorium guitars from the 200 Series have always been a hit with players of all skill levels and styles, and the latest edition of the 214ce brings more of the crisp acoustic tone and smooth feel that musicians have come to expect from a Taylor. Layered Indian rosewood forms the back and sides here, with a solid Sitka spruce top that helps this guitar produce vibrant highs and a resonant, warm low end. That tonal balance makes this guitar an all purpose musical tool, versatile enough to pump out powerful cowboy chords and articulate enough to perform beautifully in more subtle styles such as flatpicking or fingerpicking. Appointments include crisp white binding, a three-ring rosette, and a Venetian cutaway for easy access to the higher notes on the fretboard. The guitar ships with ES2 electronics for organic, clean tone in amplified situations, and comes with a sturdy padded gig bag.”
This particular Taylor is in excellent used condition, has just been setup and restrung with a new set of 12s and it plays and sounds beautifully. It ships in its original Taylor gig bag.
Body: Grand Auditorium style body with a Venetian cutaway, Sitka spruce top, laminate rosewood back and sides, X-bracing, multi-ply w/b/w binding, satin finish and one ply tortoise pickguard.
Neck: The tropical mahogany neck has a satin finish, 1 11/16” nut width, ebony fretboard with small dot inlays, 20 frets, Nubone nut and 25 ½” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: The Expression System 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design. Like the original Expression System, the ES2 features the same volume and tone control knobs. The preamp is similar but with a slightly different gain structure. As a result it will be about 25 percent hotter, which is more in line with other pickups. This makes it plug-and-play friendly both for artists and live sound mixers. The ebony bridge has a Micarta saddle, the tuners are closed back and it has a strap button at the heel as well as an end pin.
Cosmetics: This Taylor is in excellent used condition and has no breaks, cracks or visible repairs. There are no noteworthy blemishes.
Playability: Our in house luthier has just inspected, set up and restrung this guitar with a new set of 12s and it is playing beautifully with low action and a straight neck. The frets are in great shape with no grooves or divots.
