The 2004 Taylor limited edition 314-L7 features back and sides of finely figured Tasmanian blackwood and a Sitka spruce top. The balance of the guitar is standard 300 series: black bindings, gloss-finished top and satin back and sides, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and nickel tuners.

The guitar is gorgeous, and in very fine condition. Set up is perfect, the saddle is a well-made bone replacement, and there is very little fretwear. One small repaired crack in the guitar’s backside is the only flaw to find here.

A very fine sounding guitar with a wide open bass and surprising strength across the strings. It’s a very well matured tone, and one that belies the lowish price tag.
