The 914-CE is a Grand Auditorium-sized (16" lower bout width) guitar and is at the top of Taylor's production line food chain. This limited iteration of this guitar has been built with the following specs: highly-figured Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides; select Sitka Spruce for the top; forward shifted bracing with relief rout; tropical Mahogany neck; black Ebony fingerboard with 15" radius and abalone inlays; abalone rosette; 1.75" bone nut; 25.5" string scale; 2.25" string spacing; black Ebony bridge with abalone inlay; bone saddle; Gotoh 510 tuners; and Taylor Expression system electronics. With it's nut width, string spacing and venetian cutaway design, the 914-CE is a great instrument for finger style and flat pick playing. I find it to be a nicely responsive instrument, with nearly all of the output and percussive bass of a dreadnought, but with thicker mids and nicer upper end clarity. Plugged-in, this guitar offers a variety of amplified acoustic tones that are both clear and lush! While built in 2007, it is obvious this guitar has been treated with utmost care. The guitar is nearly flawless, with just a couple of B string grooves in the first two frets and one tiny, hard to find scratch in the back, lower bout (see 'More Photos' link). It comes with it's original Taylor case, truss rod tool, Expression system DVD, spec sheet and an email from Taylor confirming the Brazilian Rosewood construction of this guitar. Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
