2016 THORN Artisan Deluxe SFC Caramel Burst, Near Mint, Original Hard, $4,499.00
Offered is this stunning Artisan Deluxe built by Ron Thorn in late 2016 and just in on consignment. With this Artisan SFC (Single Florentine Cut), Ron has taken one of the most classic guitar designs and has re-envisioned it with his own incredible cosmetics and over-the-top build quality.
This work of luthier art has a one-piece Honduran Mahogany body which is topped with a 5A grade quilted Maple and has been finished in 'Caramel Burst' nitrocellulose lacquer. The total weight is 8.6 pounds. The body, neck and headstock are bound in creme ivoroid. The namesake Florentine cutaway is both beautiful and functional. The neck is also Honduran Mahogany and has been given Ron's 'Fat 59' neck shape, with depth measurements of .890" at the 1st fret increasing to .990" at the 12th fret. The fretboard is made of Black Ebony with a 12" radius, 6105 fret wire, a 1.70" bone nut and Ron's fabulous Abalone inlays. The original owner replaced the stock Thorn Arcane pickups with his favorite PRS McCarty humbuckers, but the original pickups are included.
Each guitar built by Ron Thorn is essentially a one-of-a-kind work of art that is built with amazingly high levels of precision. When you pick up this guitar, you immediately sense that it will sound and play as good as it looks and this gorgeous instrument does not disappoint. In some respects this guitar reminds me of playing a PRS Private Stock guitar and in other respects it reminds me of something built by Bill Collings. It sounds like a high-quality LP, but plays oh so much better!
Built in the latter part of 2016 this guitar has seen little play and is in near mint condition. It has virtually no flaws for me to report and the frets show no evidence of wear. It comes in it's similarly mint original hardshell case with the certificate of authenticity, tools and the original Thorn Arcane humbuckers.
This guitar model sells new for $5,800 or thereabouts. Get this like new 2016 example for substantially less. If you have been looking for an LP-style guitar that is something special, this fabulous Thorn should be on your short list.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
