Description
TLL Guitars are fully handmade in Sweden by Luthier Tobias Lindberg. Tobias's guitars are heavily influenced by the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles and architecture. Each instrument he builds is a stunning piece of functional art, with forward thinking design implementation both inside and out.
These guitars still seem to feel and sound familiar to even the most discerning musicians. Everybody who we've seen handle this guitar in our shop, has instantly been blown away with its high-end build quality, intricate details and overall beauty both aesthetically and functionally. Where it gets everyone, is in its mesmerizing tone which well discuss in further detail later on.
While the Deckard carved top, semi-hollow body model does not necessarily look, feel or sound exactly like any particular vintage guitar of the past, you can certainly see some classic influences; that make it a real treat to the player looking for an inspirational and unique tool to express themselves on, while not sacrificing that vintage familiarity many have come to enjoy and love. While this is a set-neck, semi hollow guitar, it seems to take more cues from a Fullerton style of guitar; with its 25 1/2" scale length and 9.5" radius. Though its a mixed bag as the Kalamazoo influence certainly shows as well, with its carved semi-hollow construction, 3 pus 3 headstock and PAF style Humbuckers. Yet these Cornucopia Humbuckers hand-wound by McNelly Pickups have some neat tricks up their sleeves. You can expect clear and articulate clarity with a subtle airy and woodiness to each note. They hold together very well both clean and with overdrive, never getting at all muddy. Harmonics seem to just leap off the fingerboard with a haunting acoustic presence, almost like a built in reverb effect, due to how the top is carved thinner on the sides and thicker in the middle. The sustain is also quite impressive from a non solid-body guitar.
The feel of the neck is instantly inviting with its matte oil and wax finish. It's smooth across the entire back of the neck which allows for fast runs and can be played for many hours in studio or on stage, without fatigue; as your hands just glide across it seamlessly, without any glossy nitro stickiness, that many modern players tend to shy away from now a days. This is a do it all instrument with its own distinct character that guitarists of all styles will appreciate. Whomever purchases this Deckard is sure to have a cherished musical companion for a lifetime.
