Description

This brand new Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic in a slick Sweet and Sour red is an absolute shredder and is just asking for a 15-minute solo. Here with a Flame Maple top and Alder body, it's incredibly lightweight (6 lb. 12 oz.) so tearing through any (or all) of those Kirk Hammett leads from the '80s won't wear your shoulders down - all that downstroking might kill your forearm, though. It has a full length scale at 25 1/2" and a comfortable 1 11/16" nut width, and the Maple neck has Anderson's incredibly playable Even-Taper profile. Top that off with a Rosewood fingerboard and 22 Heavy frets and you've got a veritable shred-fest in your hands. It's also loaded with Anderson's own pickups: two SC1 single-coils in the neck and middle positions with black covers, and an HF3 humbucker at the bridge. The SC1s are ultra-musical and are designed with a slightly more vintage level, while the HF3 adds extra saturation and a creamy, more forceful output. Together they make for a formidable pickup pairing, perfect for both rhythm playing and soloing. It has an added Add Bridge with Splitter + VA Booster switch along with the Volume and Tone controls, too, so you've got an even broader tonal palette at your command. Vintage Tremolo bridge and locking tuners round out the hardware on this one. This sick Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic is pound for pound (and that's very few pounds) one of the best guitars we've had in the shop. Includes full setup to your specs by our luthiers and a hardshell case.
