Offered for sale;

Vintage 1974 Traynor YGM-3 guitar combo amp serial number 4033503.

This amp is in very good condition, fully functional, cosmetically the tolex shows normal wear, the “Traynor” emblem on the grille is missing as is the original footswitch.

The Traynor YGM-3 Guitar Mate amp, with built in reverb and tremolo, has become legendary. Manufactured in Canada from 1969 through 1979, this 25 watt combo amp features hand wired, point-to-point circuitry and all tube construction.

Founded in 1963 in downtown Toronto, Yorkville Sound was formed out of the back room of the first Long & McQuade music store. The repairman at that time was Peter Traynor, and his first development was a Bass Guitar amplifier, the Traynor Dyna-Bass. From there the Traynor line of amps have had a very successful and dynamic growth, attracting attention not only in Canada, but the USA and worldwide.

Traynors were known for superb tone, somewhere between a vintage Fender Deluxe Reverb and the famed Marshall Plexi. This amp was later reissued by the re-started Traynor company.

This is only the 2nd YGM3 we’ve ever seen. The 1st on was a Fuchs mod. If you have an amp of high enough quality you can send it to Fuchs and he will modify it to a high performance amp of his design. That one sounded great and it sold quickly at $1300.00

Traynor is one of the most respected amp companies of all time. This amp is as it was meant to be. Rich and full, great reverb and tremolo but not a fender clone.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
