1954 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #0151. Very early production 1954 Fender Stratocaster, featuring a body date of 5/54 and neck date of TG-3-54. The original wiring tape is marked "Mary 5-25-54", indicating early factory assembly. Early ‘54 Strats had serial numbers from 0100 to the 1300s, stamped on the tremolo cover plate rather than the neck plate. A significant piece of Fender history from the first production year of the model. It features key early characteristics such as the spaghetti logo, round string tree, Bakelite parts, football switch tip and short-skirt knobs. The thick clear coat overspray makes it hard to determine in the finish is original, although it appears to be correct. At some point, the tuners were replaced with F-plate style tuners, leaving staggered mounting holes. The correct no-line Patent Applied tuners have been reinstalled, with one visible hole remaining while the others have not been filled. Typical dings, scuff and scratches are present but good looking overall. Personal inspection is encouraged. Comes housed in a reissue case. Original hard case included. Condition: Good.
