Vega Duo Tone

Summary: Made in Boston Massachusetts with top notch materials and attention to detail, the Vega “Duo-Tron” is an exquisite example of the 50’s aesthetics and sound. With all solid tone woods and elegant appointments, a well-equipped instrument from jazz/blues to contemporary arrangements with a classic touch is what you get from this unique beauty.

Body: The top is 3 piece, solid spruce with figured maple back and sides and black/white/black/white binding on top and white binding on back. It is a fully hollow archtop instrument with a width of 16 ¾” at its widest point.

Neck: This guitar has a solid mahogany neck with a soft V profile, a beautiful bound rosewood fingerboard and rounded block inlays. Nut Width-1 5/8” Scale Length- 25”

Pickups/Hardware: There is one floating pickup w/ a tortoise cover fixed to the end of the neck and it is controlled by a volume and tone that’s fixed to the tailpiece. It has a matching tortoise pickguard, adjustable rosewood floating bridge and really cool translucent orange tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This archtop has been kept in fantastic condition. There are a few nicks on the neck that aren’t very noticeable, as well as a few scratches on the top most notable is one on the bass side shoulder on the top (we have included a picture in the description). There is a small amount of buckle rash on the back that you can see if you hold it in the right light but is only surface level. There is a chip missing from the 12th fret inlay. The frets have a small amount of string indents in them, mainly on the first fret. This is a great looking guitar and its wear is consistent with a well-loved and well-kept vintage instrument.

Playability: This Vega archtop plays and sounds fantastic. It has just been setup by our in-house luthier with low action and strung up with really nice .011 gauge Swing Thomastik-Infeld flatwound strings. The neck is straight and the frets have tons of life left in them.

Weight: 5lbs 13oz.

Case: This wonderful Vega Duo-Tron ships in its original hardshell case.
