Circa 1925 Vega Style M Tu-Ba-Phone Tenor Banjo is in excellent condition and perfect playing order. Comes with the original hardcase.
No breaks, cracks, or repairs. Being nearly 100 years old, you would never expect this banjo to be as clean as it is. But it's clear to see it was well loved and cared for its entire life.
Constructed an extremely high attention to detail and was built to last the test of time. 3-piece flamed maple neck (maple, probably walnut, maple), bound ebony fretboard with 17 frets and mother of pearl inlays, Grover patent pending tuning keys, bone nut, and a Grover bridge. The tailpiece had been replaced at one point, and the bridge has been swapped out. Comes with a couple extra tenor bridges, as well as a tailpiece and some other odds and ends.
The frets are in fantastic shape with barely any wear, and the back of the neck is free from any dings, dents, or impressions.
Most Style M Tenors have a closed back resonator, however this one is an open back resonator.
Has a 1 3/8" nut width, 21" scale length, and weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces.
