Description
Up for sale, a Victoria Double Deluxe in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Based on Fender's famed four-inout 5E3 narrow panel Tweed Deluxe circuit, the Double Deluxe takes the same platform and substitutes a larger speaker cabinet and a quad of 6V6 power tubes. This added power allows the Double Deluxe to easily keep up in gigging situations, and provides a very unique overall tonal color, with a very sweet midrange character. Made in the USA with top quality components, this Victoria has the dynamic, articulate, and roaring tone for which its Fender predecessor was known, and the larger cab offers increased bass response and a sound that has more fullness and overall presence. Of course the real magic happens when you place a small jumper cable between the two channels and allow the two Volume knobs to interact for the ideal breakup and response.

The circuit is wired very faithfully to vintage Fender spec, with Sprague Orange Drop signal caps in the preamp and Sprauge Atom filter caps in the power section. Full size CTS pots, carbon comp resistors, cloth wire, and a vintage-style eyelet board complete the vintage look and sound. The amp is loaded with a matched quad of Electro Harmonix 6V6 power tubes which still have plenty of life left, and the amp utilizes a 5Y3 rectifier as well. The speakers are a pair of original Jensen C12N 12" ceramic drivers that are efficient and clear, with the hi-fi top end detail for which Jensen speakers are famous.

The finger-jointed pine cabinet is very resonant and covered in lacquered tweed that has just the right amber shade to have true vintage appeal. The original oxblood grillcloth with gold stripe is in great shape, and the metal "Victoria" logo is present on the face of the amp. Although difficult to capture in photos, the white silkscreened text is still present on the polished chrome control plate, which also retains a trio of stock chicken head knobs. The amp is very clean overall and would look great in a studio, with the only notable wear being a few small scuffs on the edges of the enclosure (almost exclusively on the bottom edges) as well as modest wear on the original leather handle.

A padded cover is included.
