1981 Washburn M4S Sunburst

Excellent condition featuring scroll body with two points, multiple bound top and back edges, spruce top with two unbound f-holes, ebony bridge, gold string through tailpiece (the tailpiece cover is missing), two piece back, mahogany neck, bound fingerboard with scooped fingerboard extension and dot inlays starting at the third fret, multiple bound headstock overlay with Washburn logo and decorative inlay, bone nut, four on a side per strip vintage style engraved open back tuning machines with pearloid (plastic) buttons, sunburst finish, gold plated metal hardware and black rectangular hard shell case.

This 1981 Washburn M4S is a nice vintage Japanese made mandolin at an affordable price point. Quality budget line F style mandolins are not easy to find. This example is a good sounding instrument and the playability is great as well. This Washburn is well suited for Bluegrass and Old Time music. It is also a great choice for various Americana uses and makes for a great utility instrument at a reasonable price. The top of this mandolin has been autographed by Jesse McReynolds of the Grand Ole Opry and a photo of Mr. McReynolds signing the mandolin is included. It is in excellent cosmetic condition and is set up in great playing order. We feel this is an all around quality vintage mandolin that will provide great service to whoever chooses to make it their own. We like it and feel you will, too.
