This WL-14 is a faithful reproduction of the pre-war Gibson built Kalamazoo KG-14. The back and sides are solid mahogany with a solid spruce top (ladder braced), the neck is mahogany with a steel "T" reinforcement bar. The guitar has a black finish with white accents (binding, pickguard). The lower bout width is 14 3/4" and the sccale length is 24 7/8". The nut width is 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the bridge is 2 3/8". The neck profile has a fairly pronounced "V" shape, very faithful to the pre-war profile of Gibson's Kalamazoo designs. The guitar is 4 years old and has had a strap button added to the heel. It has been very well cared for and is excellent-plus condition. The neck is very straight under tension and the top is flat. There is minimal fret wear. The action is set very low for fingerstyle, measuring 5/64" at the low E (12th fret) and 4/64" at the high E with saddle left, though you wouldn't want to lower the action any further. The guitar plays with no buzz and good intonation. If you were going to flat pick the guitar you might want to raise the action a bit, though it can be strummed with moderate attack with no buzz. Comes with the original hardshell case.

Items are sold with a 48 hour approval period unless clearly marked "AS IS" in the listing. AS IS items are not returnable. If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
