This Waterloo WL-14 X Truss Rod Sunburst, serial# 959, feels a lot like an old Kalamazoo or Gibson that's been tucked away for decades - only a helluva lot better, thanks to Bill Collings' impeccable build technique and high-quality materials. It's a pared down 1930s- and '40s-inspired 00-sized guitar with classic, old-time tone. This X-braced version has a nice low-end with a really sweet top-end sparkle and a little less pronounced mid-range than the Ladder-braced version - so you get a slightly more open, refined tone. You've got a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides here with a Ivoroid pickguard that beautifully complements the vintage-style sunburst finish. It also has elegant yet simple details that really add to its overall straightforward aesthetic, including an unbound neck, and Ivoroid top and soundhole binding. With a thicker, V-shaped Mahogany neck, slightly shorter 24 7/8" scale length, spacious 1 3/4" nut width, and 2 3/8" string spacing, you have a roomy player with a decidedly vintage feel from the moment you pick it up. Structural details include a bone cut-through saddle, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, and Golden Age Restoration tuners - all of which expertly complement the rest of the guitar. A truly remarkable acoustic at a great price, it's been tailor-made for fingerstyle and blues players, as well as old-time folk tunes - but anyone eyeing a quality guitar with an extraordinary, yet still traditional, appearance and feel will appreciate the Waterloo WL-14 X Truss Rod acoustic. Includes a hardshell case and full setup from our luthiers. 00 with X-style bracing Spruce top with Vintage-style sunburst finish, Ivoroid pickguard and binding Mahogany back and sides 24 7/8" scale length Mahogany neck with V shape and Truss Rod Indian Rosewood fingerboard with 19 Medium 18% nickel-silver frets and 6mm acrylic dot inlays 1 3/4" nut width, Ebony Bone Cut-Through saddle with 2 3/8" string spacing Ebony bridge Golden Age Restoration tuners Hardshell case included
