Description

The Weymann Company, of Philadelphia, made guitars and banjos from the late-19th century through the early-mid 20th century. We’ve seen a lot more of their banjos than guitars, but this one is indeed a true prize. It is about the size of a Martin 12-fret 0-size. with koa top, back and sides, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. We have had it in our collection for over forty years and it is now time for it to find a new home. The tones are as bright and clear as any I have ever played, and the action is appropriately low and extremely easy. Nut width is 1-13/16”, scale length is 24-3/4”. There are two very old repaired top cracks, quite well done, which were solid when I got the guitar in the early 1970s and remain so today. Tuning machines, frets, nut, and finish are all original; the bridge has been replaced, decades ago; the guitar is in remarkable condition overall. This is a beautiful, nearly 100-year-old X-braced American guitar of Martin quality for literally half the price, a true bargain in anyone’s world. $2995 w/ssc
