The Yamaha APX series was one of the great acoustic guitars for stage use back in the mid 1980s, with an undersaddle piezo pickup to reduced howling feedback, plus a cutaway body and a slim, electric-guitar style neck. Improvements continue to make the APX a classic and Replay Guitar Exchange and Yamaha are proud to offer this modern APX500III in a beautiful natural finish. Still featuring an undersaddle piezo pickup, but now with Yamaha’s highly acclaimed proprietary Pickup-R transducer to provide incredible dynamic range, natural tone and feedback rejection that today’s guitarists need. Yamaha’s legendary active preamp is still a big feature of APX, and the sound quality is everything you’d expect from the world’s number one. Over the years the APX has continued to adapt to the needs of the guitarist and the essence of APX is the same as ever, but compared to the first models today’s APX guitars boast a more woody, natural look, 5mm deeper body for better bass response and greater volume and, under the hood, scalloped bracing for a responsive, dynamic tone. A case is not included.
