Yamaha is known the world over for making great guitars in almost every popular size and tone wood combination. Less people know that early on they also had some very high end and innovative models that achieved a cult following almost immediately. The story I have heard is that Yamaha bought a good stash of highly desirable tonewoods, and had several models made in an attempt to compete with the top of the line American acoustics of the day. This is one of those early models featuring Jacaranda back and sides, slotted headstock, unique diamond inlays and a select grade of Spruce for the top. The label is hand signed and numbered 197. This guitar is in great condition, plays and sounds fantastic, comes with the original case and has been recently gone over and set up with a full fret dressing and action adjustment.
A very rare guitar in great shape.
