YAMAHA's L series, renewed since 1985.
Ten years have passed since 1974, when the L series was first lined up, and the internal structure has undergone a major update based on Terry Nakamoto's idea.
Each body shape in the L Series lineup has a different bracing pattern, which forms the heart of the sound.

Introduced here is a 1988 LS-8
The all veneer body is made of spruce top and side backs are made of palisandre, a well-known material in YAMAHA's lineup.
Palisandre is generally considered to be another name for Madagascar Rose, but YAMAHA sometimes refers to another type of wood.
It seems to have been clearly separated from Indian rosewood, and we can see that this piece is another rosewood that is not Indian rosewood.
Although this is not a "made in Japan" piece, it is of very high quality, as the quality control is done at the company's own factory.
In terms of sound, the clean and open sound is impressive, which is surprising for a regular price of 80,000 yen at that time.
Frankly speaking, the sound alone is not inferior to the 200,000~300,000 yen guitars of recent years, but in fact exceeds them.
