B” stock usually means there is a finish flaw somewhere on the instrument and we can sell it at an additional 10% discount.

It never affects the playability or factory warranty. However, on some Yamaha and Godin “B” stock guitars, the flaw is so miniscule that we can’t get a good photo of it. Or, like this Revstar, we can’t find the flaw at all. You are welcome to try. Maybe your eyes are better than ours.

The Revstar RS820 is a solid-body guitar sporting a double-cutaway design with a small pickguard, a maple top and mahogany body. A 22-fret rosewood fingerboard sits atop the 3-piece mahogany neck, and the strings are held in place by a TonePros AVT-II bridge. The body features a hidden forearm contour, a deep belly cut, and neck joint which allows for easier upper-fret access.

The RS820 features specially-wound YGD pickups that are perfectly matched to each guitar. More than 50 prototype pickups were tested featuring different combinations of wire, windings, magnets and base plates. Eventually, a spec was settled on for each guitar model and the Revstar pickup series was born. In this model: Alnico V magnet, German silver baseplate and heavy formvar wire for bright, powerful, balanced, vintage/modern sound. [8.4k (neck) / 8.8k (bridge) DCR]

Designed especially for Revstar, the Yamaha proprietary Dry Switch gives you the versatility of a coil split, but with tone that's miles ahead. Using a passive filter circuit painstakingly designed to give the perfect frequency response, the Dry Switch filters out low frequencies to give the punch and clarity of a single-coil pickup without the inevitable hum and hollow tone often associated with split humbucking pickups. The Dry Switch works on both humbuckers and P90s for a totally unique, usable tone.
