A reissue model that crystallized the passion and efforts of many people.
The original Blue Jeans Custom was a prototype made in 1965 for Takeshi Terauchi and Blue Jeans.
The SG-7, released in August 1966, had the same shape as the Blue Jeans Custom, but the Blue Jeans name is not mentioned at all. This is because Mr. Takeshi Terauchi withdrew from the development of the Blue Jeans model in 1966.
However, it was the Blue Jeans Custom that appeared in the movie "The Young Master of Electric Guitars," which graced the silver screen, and its sound was what the electric guitar boys of that time longed for.
Many years later, a reissue model of the first Blue Jeans Custom was released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first electric guitar, but Yamaha's basic philosophy was that a guitar that had only been sold as a prototype could not be made and sold, The guitar was released in a form similar to the commercial model, so it was released as a guitar with a similar shape but with dissimilar specifications.
Ten years have passed since the first reissue model, and this 1996 SG-7AS 30th Anniversary Model was released to commemorate the 30th anniversary.
Looking back over the 30 years of Yamaha's electric guitar history, the developers considered what guitars users most wanted from Yamaha, and came up with the SG-175 Buddha and SG-7 Blue Jeans Custom, and development began.
The development of the SG-175 Buddha and SG-7 Blue Jeans Custom began in March 1995, and after many twists and turns, the product went on sale, but an anecdote remains that only 56 guitars were initially shipped, out of the planned monthly production of about 100 guitars at the hand-operated level.
According to an anecdote from the developer, the SG-7AS True Replica ended up being released in a limited edition of 500 units, and while the developer's first theme was to find out what enthusiasts wanted and what they found most attractive about the Blue Jeans Custom, it was extremely difficult to find a way to make it a guitar that would also demonstrate Yamaha's technical capabilities as a musical instrument. It was extremely difficult to find a way to make the Blue Jeans Custom a guitar that would be a true example of Yamaha's technical prowess. In addition, since not everyone had access to accurate information at the time, each user had their own thoughts and ideas about the Blue Jeans Custom. It is difficult to get consistency, and it is impossible to clear everything, but this model was produced with such users' thoughts and ideas in mind.
You will understand this when you hold this guitar in your hand. A musical instrument is something that is cultivated by people, nurtured by people, and spun by people. This is an electric guitar that combines the thoughts and ideas of all kinds of people with nostalgia, and I feel that there is no other guitar that speaks of the "new with the old" better than this one.
