This tasty 1962 Gretsch Model 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean was built in the New York plant during Gretsch's "golden era". It is finished in a warm light walnut color. Engraved on the top of the headstock is the five digit serial number 45115. The single cutaway, hollow body, archtop 6119 has a double bound maple top and maple back and sides. The top, the back and the sides of the 6119 are made of laminated maple. The single bound top has two painted black and cream lined F holes. Chet Atkins signature can be found on the silver backed grey lucite pickguard. Serial #99-1119-2234. The Tennessean was another Chet Atkins inspired model from Gretsch and first appeared in 1958. It had one PAF Filter’tron pickup, Bigsby vibrato system, Chet’s signature on the pickguard and a cherry finish that tended to fade to orange over time.
