SN: 1872303. NEW PRICE. This faithful reproduction of the 1921 000-28K that resides in the Martin Museum is perhaps the most impressive small-bodied guitar in the Authentic series. It’s a dynamic finger style solo guitar with great response, dynamic range, and wonderful sustain and overtones. This one was hand selected from five at Elderly Instruments. True to its roots, it has crazy flame Koa wood, small scalloped braces, hide glue construction, and ebony truss rod. The neck measures 1 7/8th” at the nut with 2 3/8th” string spacing at the bridge. It has the slotted headstock, snowflake and diamond inlays, ebony fretboard. The scale is the longer 25.25” dreadnought scale. The only concession to modern guitar design is the T-frets (instead of bar frets). The Koa top is bound in white ivoroid and trimmed with herringbone and adorned with a multi-ringed rosette. The matched 2-piece back has the zigzag design also bound in ivoroid. The overall finish is not exactly matte but not glossy either, very similar to the near mint 1926 0-18K on my site. No detail was overlooked. I’m told this model is discontinued by Martin so we may see prices creep up a bit once the inventory is sold. This one is gently used but you’d never know it was played at all. Comes with the original high quality hardshell case. Consignment.
