    • Description: A 16” wide small jumbo made by the Larson brothers in Chicago. Spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Multi ply binding on top and back. No top cracks and excellent original neck angle with plenty of saddle. There is one very small back crack; repaired. I believe the bolts in the bridge to be original. I have seen this before . Excellent tone with a full open bass and good volume. There is some moisture that clouds the back finish and some checking on top. Any 14 fret Larson is rare guitar. This one came out of Indiana from the original owner’s family.

    • Description: A very rare early specification SJ-100 with open Mustache bridge with individual saddles and stairstep headstock. Only about 138 of this model were made in total and only a fraction had these early specs and longer scale length. Huge sound and fine playability. This guitar has had some restoration , but is original finish and solid. There are two repaired back cracks , some touchup on the front over some playing wear, a new fingerboard and a new neck block. The structural work is undetectable and would not be in evidence unless one knew the work was done.( new lower price, was $28,000)

A very cool combination of appointments.Since Employee Guitars had to deviate from standard model specs , Lloyd made a 00-28 , with herringbone, style 28 backstrip, pyramid bridge and ivoroid binding, but with a very high grade of mahogany for the back and sides. The guitar remains in lovely original condition, with only one tiny repaired top crack below the bridge ( barely visible and hard to photograph). Dated and signed “ Floyd Young , May 1, 1929 “.Sweet open sound .
