    • Description: We have here a dot neck L-5 with a very modern neck shape, hand carved braces and pearl button tuners. These were made this way for a pretty brief time and are highly prized by players. The guitar shows noticeable playing wear but no abuse. The is a hairline crack under the tailpiece. The neck angle and playability are excellent. The sound is huge , with a big bass response added to a well balance treble and lots of volume. A repro pickguard is on order. We used to date thes at 1928 , but according to revised dating by a Joe Spann , this was shipped in 1931.

Only 29 sunburst Super 400Ps were produced and only 10 in 1940 (13 in 1941 , last year made) the guitar has been professionally refretted , and shows very light playing wear, with no cracks or repairs. Lovely figured maple. Script logo and Catalyn button tuners .Originally in the Van Hoose collection and then in the Chinery collection. It is pictured in the Super 400 book. Excellent tone and setup
