Imperial Guitar & Soundworks

Offered for sale:

Used c1992 Carvin DC135 serial number 38412.

This guitar is in very good to excellent condition showing limited playing time. (truss rod cover is missing, sorry)

Carvin states:

“This guitar was designed for the player who liked the electronics configuration of the BC130 (and other manufacturer's 3-pickup guitars), but wanted neck-thru design and a full complement of options.

The DC135 with its versatile three pickup configuration gives a wide range of tonal possibilities by offering seven different pickup combinations. The new H60 stacked humbucking pickups sound similar to Stratocaster pickups, but with a sweeter tone and no hum. For lead playing the M22 bridge pickup will definitely give all the drive you need for hot solos.”

Additionally, at 25", the scale length was shorter than the BC130. The catalog showed the DC135 in optional satin koa, but poplar body sides and rock maple neck were standard. Electronics consisted of one M22 humbucker and two H60 stacked humbuckers, master volume and tone controls, and on/off switches for each pickup (a 5-way switch was optional). All the options of Carvin's complete line were available on the DC135, including choice of bridge/tailpiece, headstock, finish and hardware plating.

Imperial Guitar says:

Carvin instruments have always been interesting to say the least, they offer wide ranging options for their designs and the company has a unique direct marketing approach with their selling and distribution. That being said, this is a really nice guitar. The optional Koa wood makes this guitar even better. Unplugged it’s one of the most impressive Carvins we’ve seen, which always translates to a great guitar when plugged in.

The 3-on-a-side headstock shape is a nice touch as most DC135s have a metal style 6-in-line shape. Nice price, great guitar!

A major portion of the proceeds of the sale of this guitar will go to Hungry for Music; a charity that gets student instruments into the hands of underprivileged children.

Original hard-shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
