Offered for sale;

Used 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster serial number 259653.

This Silver Anniversary Strat is in good condition, neck and frets are fine. Cosmetically there are marks and nicks abounding. This guitar has seen action.

At one point it fell victim to the Locking Trem craze and then functionally restored back to original. The Holes from the locking nut were filled. Some of the routing for the locking bridge is still visible.

The good news is:
A) the pickups are original
B) it is surprisingly light for an Anniversary (8 lbs.)
C) it plays great
D) it’s not a lot of $$$.

The Fender Anniversary Stratocaster was released in 1979 to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
This was Fender's first anniversary model, as well as Fender's first limited run series.
The Anniversary Strat has a mix of old and progressive features: It sports the return of the (much loved) ''four bolt'' neck attachment, a neck heel truss rod adjustment and new Sperzel designed tuners.

The first run of 500 guitars was finished in a newly designed pearl white poly-finish that looked really flashy, but didn't bond well to the ash bodies and started flaking off even before the guitars left the shops. Fender decided to respray the faulty guitars with ''Porsche Metallic Silver'' polyurethane, and use that finish on the later batch of guitars too.

The Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster commemorates one of the most iconic electric guitars ever built with a limited-edition finish and appointments.

Body: Contoured alder double cutaway in Silver Stratocaster finish

Neck: Maple "C" profile with maple fretboard

Electronics: Strat single-coil pickups, master volume/dual tone knobs, five-way pickup switch

Other Features: Commemorative neckplate, "Anniversary" graphic on body

These pieces of Fender history have been known to weigh a ton. We've had some approaching 11 pounds.

This bantam weight Anniversary comes in at a mere 8 lbs.

Nice playing guitar that sounds great!

SKB hard-shell case included.

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
