Offered for sale;

Used 2001 Gibson Peter Frampton Les Paul Custom serial number PF 314.

This commemorative Custom Shop Frampton actually features Peter Frampton’s autograph. The original owner had Frampton sign it at a show.

"We've spent a lot of time trying to pinpoint the year of manufacture on this guitar. There is solder over the pot codes and we don't want to disturb that. Gibson told us it was both 2013 and 2001. Huh? So, based on a lot of other information that we've gathered, at this time we're going with 2001."

As most know, and can easily be researched, Frampton was given his now famous Les Paul by a fan that saw him struggling with feedback issues while playing at Fillmore West in San Francisco with Humble Pie. The guitar was then thought to be lost in a plane crash only to be found and eventually returned to Frampton.

The Gibson Custom Shop has re-created the guitar that Peter Frampton played on his multiplatinum live album from 1976. Distinctive features include a mahogany back with weight-relief chambers, the Peter Frampton custom slim neck profile, and three Gibson humbuckers: '57 Classic (neck), '57 Classic Plus (middle), and 500T (bridge). The 3-way pickup selector is wired so the middle pickup is always on (with its own volume and tone) and can be combined with the front or rear pickups. Top-level Les Paul Custom features include the ebony finish, 22-fret Richlite fingerboard with pearl block inlays, single-ply white binding on top and back, kidney bean tuners, and gold hardware.

This is an excellent example of an iconic guitar that has a broad appeal to players of many styles. What can you say about a triple pickup Les Paul but Rock On!

The autograph is a nice touch!

Original hard-shell case included.

“We carefully inspect every instrument when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. We also do a full set up before we ship. If you decide to purchase this guitar, please let us know what gauge strings you prefer.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
